Palm Beach Aikikai was founded in 1981 by Sensei Richard Wagener. The dojo has 35 active members, a third of whom hold Yudansha ranking (Black Belt). New students as well as Aikidoists of all styles and affiliations are welcome to train with us. We offer seven classes weekly at varied levels of ability. VISITOR INFORMATION

First of all, our dojo is always open for visitors to come in and observe training, to get to meet us and ask questions. If class is already in session, simply come in quietly, place your shoes in the rack, remove any caps, spit out gum, and have a seat next to the railing. The dojo is more than a physical training hall; it is a place of spiritual and personal growth and we show it that kind of respect. If you’re a beginner, you should observe our beginner’s classes.  The instructor will ask one of the class members to talk with you and give you a training schedule. You’re welcome to stay and watch, leave when you need to, and you are always invited back for another visit.

We love it when other aikidoka come by to train and visit with us. We are associated with the USAF, eastern region under Yamada Sensei in N.Y. We have many friends in ASU schools that train with us. We get the snowbirds visiting relatives, so we’re quite accustomed to having visitors.  Again, if class is already in session, stand there with your gi in hand, and the instructor will designate someone to greet you. Please sign the Guest participation form, the book on the desk and designate your home dojo. We ask that you make $10 donation to the dojo each time you train. (Like all small schools, every bit helps).
