Japanese Judo/Jiu Jitsu began as a battlefield martial art, developed by the Samurai to deal with armed opponents when they had lost their weapons. This martial art involves movement such as locking or throwing to achieve positive results. The focus of this martial art is grappling and ground fighting. This class is phenomenal for anyone who is looking to increase their strength and flexibility. The judo/jiu jitsu student must have total mental and bodily focus. It is not always the stronger person who has the advantage, but the cool, calm and collected fighter who wins the fight. Incorporating these grappling techniques into your martial arts training creates the well rounded martial artist.
