Description

Oishi Judo is one of the oldest active judo clubs in New York City. It was founded in 1969 by Shiro Oishi, who continues to teach classes and give private lessons.

You are always welcome to watch a class at no charge. You can call in advance or simply drop by.

Shiro Oishi came to America as an art student in his early 20s and started Oishi Judo Club in 1969. Sensei Oishi holds a 7th degree black belt and was the 1980 AAU National Masters Judo Champion, 1969 AAU National Judo Champion, and 1976 AAU National Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion. Some of Sensei's sketches and paintings are on display in the dojo.
