RENZO GRACIE ACADEMY was founded in 1996 by Renzo Gracie, 8th-degree black belt under Carlos Gracie, Jr. The Academy traces its roots directly back to the original Gracie Barra Academy located in Barra da Tijuca, Rio De Janeiro, Brasil. Gracie Barra is owned and operated by Master Carlos Gracie Jr., the son of Carlos Gracie, the late founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Robert Descailleaux, 3rd. Degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie, opened RENZO GRACIE ALABAMA in 2019.
